I need to share my surprise and excitement. Less than a month ago, I stumbled upon Kids Can Sew. The investment was minimal with very little risk to start. I put out a few feelers. And within 24 hrs, I had many interested parties. My budget was to keep everything under $500. And I came in at $488.40. (not including student pattern packets.) My first class is on Friday March 10. I am excited to announce that I have 2 classes FULL, 1 class with 3 students and 1 class of 2 as of today. My mouth is dropping! Oh, and I have 1 more that has signed up for my Easter Camp. I don’t know how to thank you for this program that has made possible for kids around here to have something that moms have been unable to pass down since they, like me, never learned how from our mothers nor even grandmothers. Moms are happy and relieved and the kids are excited. Helena posted 3/7/17
I am beyond excited!!! I started my school last year with 2 students. Yesterday I filled my last opening. I teach 4 days a week total of 8 classes 3 student in each class. TOTAL 24 paying students! I am beyond blessed now onto a waiting list for fall. I am taking advice from some of you great ladies (KCS facebook group). Thanks! I will be having a price increase of $20 a month. This increase will have the parents pay $12.50 per hour compared to $10. Angie posted 3/2/17
I got my membership packet of information yesterday! Devouring…But the best news is that its only been 4 days since I joined and I already have 5 committed students for my first week of classes. People were so eager, I didn’t want them to lose their enthusiasm so…the first week of classes is in less than 3 weeks! Cora posted 2/18/17
Dear Carolyn, I just wanted to tell you how well I am doing with my school. I gave myself a short term goal of 24 registered students and in three months I have met that goal. I now have a waiting list of students who will sign up after fall sports schedules change.
The article announces that we are moving to a new location strictly to enlarge and expand my school. I have already hired an assistant and, once moved, will be able to hold two classes at a time doubling my enrollment – 68 more students. Wouldn’t that be great! I love my job and your program. I can’t thank you enough for giving me and others the opportunity to be so successful and happy with what I’m doing.
Dear Mrs. Curtis & Staff, I will be marking my second anniversary as a Kids Can Sew Teacher next month and would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the integrity of the Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design program. Thank you for teaching me every aspect of the business. Starting from legal, bookkeeping, to marketing, and running the first class. Over the past two years I have touched the lives of more than 90 students. Each of them has been encouraged and challenged by the Kids Can Sew program and everyone without exception has succeeded in learning sewing skills and producing wearable garments.
Dear Carolyn Curtis, I just wanted to let you know that my Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design Fashion Show was a ‘grand success’! The photo shows 63 students who participated. My school now has 68 enrolled students! Over 300 people showed up to watch including a photographer from one of our major newspapers!
I love your program. The very best thing about it is that I not have to re-invent the wheel in trying to figure out what projects are best. All the work has been done for me. The kids pattern packets – curriculum are the BEST. All I have to do is TEACH and I love it because I am busy with a family as well. Thank you so much for your program.
Class must have gone well – Peter came home really pumped about the class & all the things he is going to make.” He was very excited and asked to practice on my sewing machine (yes, I have one as a paper weight)
Hello Kids Can Sew, Just wanted to share the excitement I’ve received regarding my after school program. I have eight students (the school provides an assistant who is so excited to help!) in the class and there is a waiting list. The class filled up within a week of registration for after school classes – almost as fast as the cooking and karate classes which have been long-standing favorites! There are two boys, 2 first-graders, 5 second graders and 1 third grader (but he is 8, same as the second graders).
