What the Kids Can Sew Instructors Are Saying

Check out these Kids Can Sew Testimonials! It's why we do what we do. See what sewing instructors have to say about their sewing business of providing sewing classes and sewing lessons for kids and teens, using the Kids Can Sew® Program.

teaching during pandemic

I have continued to run classes throughout the pandemic. Here’s my process:
1. Upon arrival students wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer which I provide
2. I sanitize the tables, machines, iron, chairs, door knobs and tools before each class
3. Students are spaced out and have individual work stations.
4. Everyone is required to properly wear a mask.
5. Only students are allowed in the classroom; no parents or visitors

Instructions simplify the projects

Just started teaching and I am absolutely in love with it. I was amazed at how easy it was to get my studio going, thanks to the information I received in my kit. The patterns are amazingly easy for the kids to sew and I love the way the instructions simplify the projects. I love my classes! Thanks Kids Can Sew! P.S. My classes are growing, and I’m “sew” excited! I also have to say that I have to agree with another review that this is the most inexpensive start up I have come across. Truly a blessing for me!

most inexpensive start up ever

It has been the most inexpensive start up I have ever seen! I had a budget of around $600. And I was able to start my business with that. My first day I had 11 students signed up. I work out of my home and work the hours I want. If it wasn’t for this very unique sewing program, I would have never had the courage to do this on my own. I cannot thank this company enough.

started with just two students

I am beyond excited! I started my school last year with 2 students. Yesterday I filled my last opening. I teach 4 days a week total of 8 classes 3 students in each class. TOTAL 24 paying students! I am beyond blessed now onto a waiting list for fall. I am taking advice from some of you great ladies. Thanks! You ladies are the BEST!!!

started on a shoe string

I started on a shoe string budget. Buying machines at about $80 each. Six years later, a few moves, and things continue to perk along!! I have been a KCS teacher for almost 7 years now and have had numerous girls and boys come to my studio. If you sew, and want to share your talents with the children in your community, I strongly recommend that you use this program. I am very pleased with this program, as are all of my students and parents!

Very little risk to start

Searching online I stumbled onto Kids Can Sew and thought this would be a great little business for me since I wanted to share my love for sewing with others. I put out a few feelers before moving forward and within few days I had many interested parties. Needless to say, I then joined. KCS offered suggestions on machines and the essential supplies needed for working with children. I started my business and within a month I had two FULL classes and one half-filled class. I fully expect more to follow. Thank you KCS for offering this wonderful program.

I Need to Share My Excitement

I’ve been running the Kids Can Sew Program in Singapore for the last 6 years and loving it. The set up cost was minimal and unlike other “home based businesses” there was plenty of detail on how it works and what was needed.  After being a stay at home Mum for 20+years, this was wonderful to get me back into the workforce doing something I love and I can still be there for my kids, working the hours I want to work. I can honestly say I love my job!

Today was a record day!

I’m in tears I’m so happy. Today was a record day. 12 returning students signed up for January classes and 3 new students registered as well. I don’t even open my registration until December 15th. And I didn’t say a word about upcoming classes. WTH am I doing right, cause I don’t ever want this to end. Pinch me.

Met My Goals

I just wanted to tell you how well I am doing with my school. I gave myself a short term goal of 24 registered students and in three months I have met that goal. I now have a waiting list of students who will sign up after fall sports schedules change.

I Love My Job and Your Program!!

The article announces that we are moving to a new location strictly to enlarge and expand my school. I have already hired an assistant and, once moved, will be able to hold two classes at a time doubling my enrollment – 68 more students. Wouldn’t that be great! I love my job and your program. I can’t thank you enough for giving me and others the opportunity to be so successful and happy with what I’m doing.

Karla

Thank you!!

I will be marking my second anniversary as a Kids Can Sew Teacher next month and would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the integrity of the Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design program. Thank you for teaching me every aspect of the business. Starting from legal, bookkeeping, to marketing, and running the first class. Over the past two years I have touched the lives of more than 90 students. Each of them has been encouraged and challenged by the Kids Can Sew program and everyone without exception has succeeded in learning sewing skills and producing wearable garments.

It is a Grand Success!

I just wanted to let you know that my Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design Fashion Show was a ‘grand success’! The photo shows 63 students who participated. My school now has 68 enrolled students! Over 300 people showed up to watch including a photographer from one of our major newspapers!

I Don’t Have to Reinvent the Wheel

I love your program. The very best thing about it is that I not have to re-invent the wheel in trying to figure out what projects are best. All the work has been done for me. The kids pattern packets – curriculum are the BEST. All I have to do is TEACH and I love it because I am busy with a family as well. Thank you so much for your program.

Nancy

Love the Program!!

I have been with your program for 5 years and I love it! I hold 10 classes a week along with raising my 4 children and keeping the household running with a traveling husband.” Keep up the good work and thanks again!

Love the Curriculum

I personally love the curriculum. I was teaching a little bit before hand and I exhausted myself trying to constantly come up with ideas. I love that the books are organized and easy for the kids to understand and follow along. I really love the camp kits! It makes my camps go so much smoother! They are already tested to be on point for new/beginner sewers and have been tested for about how long it takes students to complete. Most of the students I get have never sewn before or only sewn a little bit and really didn’t have proper instruction.
