Who's Behind The Seams? Meet the team...
Carolyn Curtis, Founder
In the early 1980's, Carolyn developed easy patterns and instructions that kids could sew for her own sewing school. At the time no one thought that young children could use a sewing machine to sew their own clothes. Carolyn was about to prove them wrong! Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design has been in business for 32 years as a result of Carolyn's talent and love of children and sewing. She has brought a lifelong talent and skill to millions of children worldwide. Today, Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design Inc. is known worldwide. Carolyn says her greatest blessing in life is her loving husband of 50 years, their six children and seventeen grandchildren. The family is christian loving people and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. http://www.mormon.org/
Lyndee enjoys all aspects of teaching kids to sew. She enjoys sharing her creative talents and fun ideas with everyone she meets! Her love of sewing is a lifelong talent she shares with her entire family.
With her creative design talent, Teri enjoys new projects, challenges, and implementing new ideas. As a past sewing instructor herself, Teri understands the complete process and what it takes to run a great sewing school!
Tami shares her talent with us through video and media. She brings many great ideas she can't wait to share. In her spare time, she is usually found on several lakes as she is a professional bass fisher "woman". Tami herself has also been an instructor and has run several very successful classes in various venues such as home, store, and community.
When not working or sewing, Becky is one of our Blog contributors. She enjoys reading, gardening, scrapbooking and traveling. Fun facts about Becky: Home town is Citrus Heights, California (near Sacramento); moved to Florida in 1999. 2014 major sewing accomplishment: 9 bathrobes in 4 days for daughters friends & sorority sisters, great easy pattern Simplicity 3696. Dear Mrs. Curtis & Staff, "I will be marking my second anniversary as a Kids Can Sew Teacher next month and would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the integrity of the Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design program. Thank you for teaching me every aspect of the business. Starting from legal, bookkeeping, to marketing, and running the first class. Over the past two years I have touched the lives of more than 90 students. Each of them has been encouraged and challenged by the Kids Can Sew program and everyone without exception has succeeded in learning sewing skills and producing wearable garments."
